TRIVIA

The director of movie EMI wanted to build a set of a trendy salon as it was an important scene in the film. Sanjay Dutt told him not to do it and arranged for the shoot at Aalim's salon in Bandra. In fact, Sanjay suggested to the director that instead of using an actor as a stylist, he could use the in-house stylist Shano in the film.

On the sets of EMI, where Sanjay Dutt plays Sattar Bhai, a Muslim, Sanju Baba was required to shoot a scene offering namaz. Sanjay slipped into character easily and actually offered namaaz. He did the vazu (the ritual of washing before the namaaz), then went down on the jaa-namaaz (prayer mat) and said his prayers so very naturally.

Sanjay Dutt left the audio release function of EMI mid-way. On Friday night (23rd September 2008), he rushed to be by his gym trainer Ramesh's side on hearing that he had met with an accident. This happened during the EMI music release event at the Hotel Intercontinental, Sahar.

Manyata Dutt was not too happy about husband Sanjay Dutt kissing Vidya Malvade in Kidnap. Hence the scene was deleted from final prints of the film.

While shooting aboard a boat for Blue, Sanjay Dutt's watch slipped out of his hand as he was removing it. On an impulse, Akki dove into the water and retrieved it. The incident happened when the unit was shooting in Nassau, Bahamas. Confirming the incident, director Anthony D'Souza says, "Sanjay was in the boat wearing the watch. But when he had to face the camera, he had to remove it. Accidentally, it fell into the water. As the cast was in scuba gear, they could jump into the water immediately. Akshay managed to find it within minutes."
