Finally got around to writing my first real blog. It's a terrific feeling to communicate, which is what filmmakers try and do all the time in any case!
Where do I begin?
My thoughts over the last year have been about the phenomenal change my industry is experiencing. So much money, so many opportunities, but only the rare good film!
This made me realise that a lot of people are rushing to grab opportunities (and why not? - it's been a draught for the longest time!).
But the oldest adage of our business still holds strong for me, and especially in these rapidly changing and tempting times…
An adage coined by William Shakespeare (I hope I'm right about that!):
"If it's not on the page, it's not on the stage."
It's obvious that we're a country devouring entertainment faster than it can be provided, and I've spent a lot of time working on the raw material for films: Scripts.
It's my belief that along with the viewer's voracious appetite for movies, their changing and evolving tastes also mean that they're less willing to compromise on content and quality, and are sharper at spotting genuine efforts.
The response to my preparation has been great, both from producers as well as actors, and I am in the process of applying the finishing touches to my paperwork.
Hopefully I'll be in a position to take off for a holiday soon, and come back fresh and charged.
That's what the month of May is for, isn't it?

Milan Luthria is a person who can don many hats at the same time, and yet excel in everything, probably something that only a few can contemplate doing. In other words, everyone can attempt, but only a few can be successful. No wonder, this man is indeed one of the finest Directors that Bollywood has ever witnessed!
Legends have it that in order to see if the rice is cooked properly, you have to sample just one as the rest will simply be the best! Likewise, just a mere sample of Milan’s work (Kachhe Daage, Taxi No. 9211, Chori Chori etc…) shows the versatility this man exudes.
