Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic is my fourth film as a director but my first as a producer, strangely it never felt like my fourth film, because I guess with every film I feel as if its my first film or dare I say it my last….what if I mess up really badly and never get a chance to make a film again ?! You see I don't come from a filmi background or family, so I don't take my position in the industry for granted. The other day at a party, Hrithik said a lovely thing to me, he said ‘Kunal, do you know how lucky we are to be making movies ? Millions of people want to be where we are, but we are actually doing it.’ Its realizing your position, being grateful for it and not taking it for granted is what probably pushes Hrithik forward in everything he does be it an Ad, a Film or anything. This is what makes Hrithik experiment with new subjects, try films and themes not tried before, and come up with a Koi Mil Gaya or Krish. This is what makes an Aamir make every film of his special, it makes him try not just new subjects but pushes the boundary’s of Hindi Cinema to a new level. This is one emotion that us filmmakers have to keep alive in us and guard against ever taking our place or our audiences for granted.
Another very nice thought id like to share with all of you, a friend of mine told me, ‘be careful of what vibes you send out into the universe, as that’s what will come back to you’. Think about it, if you are unsure or overconfident of something, you might not realize it, you might not see it, but the universe sees it, the universe feels it and that’s what you get back.
Ok why am I being so serious or philosophical? I guess its that’s time in a filmmakers life, my films publicity is about to get into full gear in the next few days, after which its going to be a whirlpool of moments that’ll climax with the release of Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic and that’s when I’ll know our fate. Our fate, the fate of all the people who helped make this film. Every actor, every technician, every worker, I know has put in that little extra in this film. Why ? How ? I don't know, but they just did. This film brought together a team of people many of whom came together for the first time, but somewhere through the making of this film the whole team, became just that, a team. Everyone put it something more, something special into the film. Just before the whirpool of events around the film starts I want to thank them all, not for working on the film, but for giving it that extra something, truly, the fourth time has been like the first and now all we want in our lives is ….. yes you know it …..
