    Shooting at Jaisalmer for Victory
Friday, January 23, 2009
Hello friends, comrades and country men, I guess you may have already heard and read that the song 'Balla Utha' has created a new record in the downloads section, this gives me such joy that I am unable to explain how gratified and indebted I feel towards to you the audience that has made this all possible. Well, not taking more time on that I know that you all want to know about the film's shoot...

This again, is common knowledge that the film was shot across the globe, however, I will start first with our own motherland which we all hold so dear... Our first schedule started in the beautiful city of Jaisalmer. This place holds utmost relevance in the film as Vijay starts him momentous struggle to fame from this quaint beginning.

The shoot started on the 3rd of December, '07, I must say that till that day I never knew what it was like to face the rage of Mother Nature in the form of the desert winds. The reason we had to face this was because we were shooting in the nights and the temperature though not very low was enhanced by the winds. It was like we were somewhere far off living like nomads with campfires here and there just to keep us from freezing.

Here when we were scouting for a suitable village, we hit upon a road block the place that I wanted was supposed to be a rustic village and should recreate the old times, however this was not the case. Hence, we went about and recreated an entire village from nothing and started the shoot there. The houses were absolute; we could even live in them. Once the shoot started, it was on all day and continued right through the night. The reason I wanted this was just to signify the magnum of cricket in India, that even the smallest of people no matter where they come from want to be the biggest stars in the sport.

Towards the middle of the shoot, thanks to the conditions surrounding us, I simply went numb along with most of the guys with us, to boot we were told about these ghost stories as that place we were shooting at was near some kind of haunted zone. However, there was hardly any nervousness, though, at times later in the night, we would have some guys rushing at us with the expression that he has just encounter something supernatural, but then we were there and after.

Later, we also shot in Jaipur, Udaipur and yes of course, Mumbai. However, for the entire shoot we created sets only in Jaisalmer and Mumbai. At both these places, the sets were necessary as they would portray the place where Vijay Shekhawat lived and how his rise to fame took flight from there.

As for the other places they were to depict the transition of Vijay from his hometown to the city. We have also shot at some famous landmark stadiums. However, I shall talk about that at a later point of time and also assist them with visuals and images of the locations. I hate to say good bye, but, I have to rush as my film needs attention and I shall never forget your support for having my film's song achieve a new record.
